Sleeping in a Wig: To Wear or Not to Wear?
With the continuous innovation and development of modern society, wigs have also entered the world's leading industry. There are more and more beautiful wig styles that people can’t put down. More and more people are buying wigs to make themselves more beautiful.
Some people wear wigs every day to make themselves beautiful all the time. They need to put it on every morning and take it off every day before going to bed. This is a very tedious and troublesome thing. Some people may just sleep with their wigs on to save time. But can wigs be worn while sleeping?
After extensive surveys and interviews with wig users, I strongly recommend against sleeping with a wig on. There are two reasons.
- When you toss and turn all night, the friction between the wig and the pillow will cause friction. This can cause the wig to tangle and fall off, or even cause irreparable damage to the wig. Even those who are able to wake up in the same position as when they fell asleep will notice shedding and wear while sleeping with their wig on. Therefore, wearing a wig to sleep will significantly shorten the service life of the wig.
- Wearing a wig to sleep can also cause scalp irritation. You may even notice a build-up of oil or sweat after wearing it overnight. This will eventually cause them to build up on the wig and mesh, causing hair to fall out of the mesh or increasing the need to wash the wig more frequently. And some wigs that have been used for too long and are not cleaned in time will cause bacteria to breed on the head and may also affect the blood circulation in the scalp, so it is best to take off the wig before going to bed.
Therefore, I recommend that you arrange your wig and put it in a ventilated place instead of sleeping with it on. If possible, you should also comb your wig with a wig comb before bed to remove any tangles from the day. Proper care of your wig will keep it looking its best for the longest time.
In addition, wigs also need regular cleaning and care.
Whether it is pure human hair or chemical fiber wigs, they will become contaminated and dirty after being used for a long time. Therefore, it is best to sew a hair net in the hair cover before using the wig, which will not only help fix it, but also facilitate cleaning.
It is generally advisable to clean wigs every 3 to 7 days. Before washing, first use a coarse-toothed soft brush or a sparse-toothed wooden comb to gently comb from top to bottom to remove dirt and dust. Then put the wig into warm water dissolved in detergent (water temperature 25~30℃), soak it for 10 minutes, then rinse the wig gently with your hands. During rinsing, you can use a comb to remove the stickiness on the wig. Be careful not to rub the wig vigorously in water, which may cause the wig to fall off and break. Finally, rinse the wig with clean water, gently wipe it with a dry towel to absorb the moisture on the wig, apply a little hair cream on the wig, hang it in a ventilated place to dry naturally, and then fix it with a curling iron or blow it into shape. If it is not used frequently, you can use hairpins to fix it in the direction of the corrugation, and use a plastic bag to seal it for storage.
